William A. "Bill" Maddox served as D.A. from 1980-85, when he was appointed to the chief federal prosecutor position of United States Attorney for Nevada. He then practiced law in Carson City for many years before being appointed to the district court bench in 2000. He succeeded retiring Judge Michael Fondi in Department II of the First Judicial District Court (Carson City and Storey County).
